Six Flags Fiesta Texas is Closing the Scooby-Doo Ride

Ok, so this one isn't very exciting, but it's still 2018 Scooby news. Six Flags Fiesta Texas is closing the Scooby-Doo Ghostbusters ride after 16 years of it being in service. The ride will close on January 7, 2018. The ride was unveiled in 2002.

S.C.O.O.B.

Here is a little more not so exciting news. The live-action movie that was slated to be released on September 21, 2018 will be pushed back to May 15, 2020. It's too bad they aren't releasing the movie in 2019 for Scooby's 50th birthday!

Daphne & Velma

Have you heard about the Daphne and Velma direct-to-video release coming out in late 2018? Daphne, played by Sarah Jeffery, and Velma, played by Sarah Gilman, are high school students who suspect their classmates are being turned into zombies. The film is executive produced by Ashley Tisdale. This will be a live action spin off of Scooby-Doo, that doesn't include Scooby and Shaggy.

How do you feel about this new movie? Are you looking forward to it?

  1. Honestly, I'm looking forward to everything we've heard about so far that's to come in 2018, though I'd say I'm most excited for "Daphne and Velma." It will be interesting to see a heavier focus on those characters and to maybe see a different side of them. I'm not a huge fan of Batman: The Brave and the Bold and haven't seen much of the series beyond the episode which featured Scooby, but I'm still looking forward to the movie. I've heard the film will feature classic Scooby monsters as well, so that will be really cool! I definitely agree with you that S.C.O.O.B. should have been released in September 2019 for Scooby's 50th birthday, but hopefully WB will do something else special for it!

    1. I do really hope they do something fun for Scooby's 50th! And not just a Scooby marathon.
