New Scooby-Doo Funko POP Figures Announced on May 24th

This week is Funkoween and we got a treat yesterday from Funko! They released The Hex Girls 3-pack POP Figure set! People have been waiting for this! There had been a whole campaign to get Funko to make these POP Figures and they finally came through! I'm excited that Dusk, Thorn and Luna are finally POP figures.

They were released out of the blue yesterday as Hot Topic exclusives and they sold out in about 9 minutes. I thought they would be posted on eBay for $100, being that they were sold by Hot Topic for $36.90. To my surprise, more like horror, people were listing them on eBay for $300! Nothing like taking advantage of people! But, have no fear...if you didn't snag the set yesterday, Hot Topic and Funko have confirmed that they will be available again to order at some point. So please don't give the scalpers the satisfaction of making an insane profit on these POP figures. Wait it out and get them when they are a decent price.

Also announced on Monday, May 24th was a new Scooby-Doo Funko Soda POP Figure. This one is called...Space Ghost? I think they mean Space Kook! Space Ghost is a totally different Hanna-Barbera character!

The Soda figure will have a regular version and a glow-in-the-dark chase version. It hasn't been revealed yet how we can get this POP figure, so keep your eyes open for the announcement!  With only 7,500 being made, it will surely sell out quickly and be listed on eBay for an astronomical amount of money!

I spent my day today watching the Funko page, refreshing it every few minutes, stressing over whether this figure would be released today, just to have it not be released and now I have to go through that again tomorrow. It can be quite tiring to deal with exclusives and I go back and forth with "is it worth it or not?" My problem is that I have every Scooby-Doo POP figure that has been made so far and I feel like I need to get all the new ones that come up to keep my collection intact.

Thinking about new POP figures, I wonder if any other Scooby-Doo figures will be released this week or if we will only see The Hex Girls and Space Ghost Kook?

Good luck to all the collectors that really want this item because they feel it will add to their ever growing collection. Keep an eye on Funko's social media pages and on my social media pages for updates!

New Scooby-Doo FigPins and My Dislike for Exclusives

The Scooby-Doo FigPins were released at 1pm EST today and it was so very stressful for me!

We learned about the FigPins release date 6 days ago and I've been a little stressed out since then! I'm not a big fan of blind packs or exclusives! I don't like having to fight to get something that I want to add to my collection.

With the Funko exclusives, you usually have seconds to log on, add it to your cart and check out. How many times have you waited for the order to go through just to get a message that says they are all sold out? Then you know that within minutes you're going to see the same item on eBay for 3-4 times what Funko was selling it for.

Being that I have never purchased FigPins before, that was what I expected, especially with Velma and Shaggy holding Scooby being so limited, with only 3,000 and 2,000 being made.

I was ready to log in by 12:45pm so I could get all the pins, the full set! I had my hubby on a page to get Velma since she wasn't on the FigPin site. Come 1:00pm I refreshed the page and set out to buy them all. I was almost in panic mode as I added them to my cart. I had to enter a credit card for one of the sites I bought them on, and as I did, my hands were shaking. I mean, these are Scooby pins, not life or death if I don't get them, but I was so stressed out that I was shaking. It didn't get much better as I hit the button to complete my order as I anticipated the sold out message.

To my amazement, there was no sold out message. My orders were through and the pins will be mine once they ship. I sat back in relief that the process was over. My hubby texted me and let me know he got Velma. I felt like I was able to breathe again!

I am not a fan of exclusives! The stress that I go through to get a Scooby related item is so intense. The worst part is seeing collectors that weren't able to get that item and then it is overpriced on eBay by someone that was just out to make a buck. I prefer preorders so it's fair for anyone that wants to buy it.

I'm happy to say that the FigPin crisis is over and I can relax now knowing that eventually they will be shipped to me and in my Scooby case.

By 1:40pm, Velma was starting to sell out on some sites, Shaggy holding Scooby was still available though.

Scooby-Doo! Yahtzee Score Card

Growing up, Yahtzee was one of my favorite games to play. I loved it so much, but I always thought there should be a Scooby-Doo Yahtzee.

Since there was never a Scooby version made, so in 2015 I had a woodworker near me make me wooden dice that I could use to play Scooby Yahtzee.

The wooden dice turned out awesome! Hand made! One of a kind! But they were too light to use to play Yahtzee and I didn't want to ruin them.

In 2020, USAOPOLY released these Scooby-Doo dice, which are perfect for Yahtzee!! I bought 2 sets so I could open one and keep the other sealed. These dice were screaming YAHTZEE!

All I needed was a Scooby-Doo! Yahtzee card, which I finally made yesterday to go with the dice. I'm so excited to play Yahtzee now! I just need someone to play with! Virtual game of Yahtzee anyone?

You should be able to click on the score card and save it or print it for yourself. If not, let me know and I can send it to you.

Scooby Panel - A New Web Series

I created Scooby Panel because I don't really have people to talk about Scooby-Doo with. Most of the people in my life don't understand why I collect Scooby-Doo merchandise or like Scooby in general.

The Scooby Panel allows me to talk about Scooby-Doo with other Scooby fans who understand why I like Scooby so much. I've recorded 2 panels, the first one is available on YouTube, or you can watch it below, and I have had so much fun with both. I look forward to doing more.

In the first panel, I talk to Alexa Lawlor from The Unmasked History of Scooby-Doo Podcast. Mike Jozic from A Podcast Named Scooby-Doo, Cameron Bates from Scooby-Doo and Cameron Too and Blogger and Scooby collector Wendy Brydge. We discussed how Scooby has lasted for over 50 years, the sexualization of cartoon characters and the voice actors in SCOOB!

If you want to be a part of a panel or you have discussion topics you want us to cover, leave a comment below or contact me through one of these social media platforms:

You can also find the videos on my new Scooby Panel page on my website.

I am so excited to talk Scooby-Doo with the panel and I cannot wait to record more episodes! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

New Logos and Artwork for Scooby Addicts

I just have to say that I am speechless when it comes to this new artwork for Scooby Addicts! It has exceeded my expectations a million times!

My previous logos were pretty simple. I had created them myself in 2007 when I started my website and I'm not an artist, so I just did what I thought would work. I wouldn't say they were horrible, but they weren't anything special. Just black and white images of the gang silhouettes.

When I first contacted Will Davenport to do some new artwork, I sent him the following ideas:

"I was thinking a full body picture of me wearing the ScoobyAddicts shirt and holding the stuffed Scooby"

"I'm wondering if there is something cool that can be done with my ScoobyAddicts logo. I have attached the 2 logos that I have used. Is there something cool you can do to make it look better?"

He literally had nothing to work with, especially where the logos were concerned. I had a slight idea of what I wanted for cartoon me, but even that was not a clear vision in my head. Surprisingly, he went with what I told him and he sent me some rough sketches.

One of the things that stood out when I first saw the rough sketches was that there was a 6th member of the gang. I looked at it and was like...Wait...What?...THAT'S ME! I couldn't even believe my eyes. I had never even thought of having me in the logo. I only ever thought of Scooby or the gang. So Cool!!!

Then I looked at cartoon me, mostly focusing on the Scooby in my hand because I don't usually like pictures of me, though seeing myself in cartoon form was extremely cool! That Scooby is beyond adorable! He's the Scooby I take all my pics with, only more life-like. His cuteness had me smiling from ear to ear. My expectations have already been long surpassed and these were just the rough sketches.

I had asked Will to change the cheeks on cartoon me to make them not stand out as much and I chose the Mystery Machine type writing for the logo as I thought it looked more fun. Will also thought that having the entire gang in the logo was overcrowded, and I agreed, so we went with just me and Scooby.

Removing the gang, Will sent me the rough designs for the logo. It was really hard to pick just 1, so I chose 2 haha. I liked #3 for the logo for social media, but I also liked #1 for a banner. Looking at these, I was just in total awe. I never thought of me being in my logo with Scooby and I was just so excited with the idea of it.

Moving on to Cartoon me, Will sent me 2 new sketches, with the original sketch next to them. I knew instantly that I wanted to go with #1. I thought it looked more fun and I really liked the changes he made. It's an image of me that I can actually look at and be happy with, and that little Scooby is just the most adorable thing I have ever seen! I sent him the ok to go with #1 and asked him if he could add the Scooby Addicts logo to the shirt.

He sent me these logos in color, which blew me away! The color really added a whole new level to the logo and seeing my silhouette standing next to Scooby was unbelievable.

Then came the first image of cartoon me in color. I opened the image and couldn't believe my eyes. It was amazing! It was spectacular! It was ME holding a little Scooby in my hand and the gang was watching me. Never in a million years would I have ever expected a cartoon version of me to be this awesome! I just stared at the picture for a while, in complete shock and awe!

There was just 1 change I felt needed to be made to the image. I wanted the logo on cartoon me's shirt to be the colors of the Mystery Machine to make it stand out more and give it a more Scooby vibe.

The change of the shirt really made a huge difference. It screams Scooby-Doo now! And the shirt turned out better than I thought it would be. I just had 1 more change.

I wanted my shoes to be purple. Purple is my favorite color, so I wanted to add that one little touch of purple to me and then it was perfect! Even the shadow behind me and Scooby is perfect! I just can't even comprehend how my very non-descriptive ideas of what I wanted turned into this! Will is like a magician! He truly is a super talented artist! He basically took nothing and turned it into everything I could have ever wanted and then some.

The black and white logos are amazing! The flowers add so much character to them. And I still can't believe I'm in the logo!

Here is a closer look at me and Scooby. I love us both! Still, Scooby is just too adorable!! I love that I am a cartoon character and in the Scooby style.

Will did an awesome job with the logos and cartoon me. He more than exceeded my expectations and he created these images with barely any direction from me. He was so easy to work with and he did all of this in 3 days. I highly recommend Will if you are looking for artwork. You can find him at the following links:

In Search of Scooby-Doo Fan Artists

Drawing of Scooby by ScoobyAddict (1999)

As a lot of you know, I post Scooby-Doo Fan Art every Friday on my social media pages. I haven't really asked for fan art in a while, so I've been searching for it on my own. However, I'm doing another call for fan art.

If you have an original piece of Scooby-Doo related fan art that you want to have featured on my social media pages, please send it to me and I will post it on a Friday! I do try to keep everything PG just to make it friendly for everyone, so if you send me something that may be more explicit, I may opt not to post it.

You can find me at the following social media pages:

Facebook
Instagram
Twitter

Please note that I always give the artist credit, though I am not always able to tag people in my posts due to the way the social media platforms, mainly Facebook, work. If you want me to try to tag you in the posts, please send me your social media handle for each platform and a link to your website or fan art site.

Scooby fans really enjoy fan art, so if you have something to share, please send it to me so I can share it! I look forward to seeing some great pieces of art!

Review: Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob!

My Review of Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob

“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.”

********* Contains Spoilers *********

I love anything medieval and especially if it has dragons, so I was super excited when this movie was announced! I enjoyed the movie and I think it is one of the better Scooby movies that has been released in a while.

The nod to The Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare at 30,000 Feet" (and also the "Gremlin on a Plane" episode from Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!) at the beginning of the movie had me thinking that things weren't going to be what they seem with this movie.

I do think it was predictable. Some of the scenes they showed leading up to the gang time traveling led me to believe that they weren't really time traveling. There also wasn't really a mystery. We know Morgan La Fey wanted the throne and that she would stop at nothing to get it. It felt more like the gang was in a dream while I was watching it.

The gang traveled to Norville Der Morgana, where Shaggy's ancestors were from, though we never got to meet any of Shaggy's family members. I would have thought that he had to have at least 1 relative in the town. It was kind of a missed opportunity.

Shaggy screaming like a girl was a really funny and an unexpected moment. I had to rewind that a couple times to watch it again and I laughed every time.

I really liked the flashbacks to the other Scooby series and movies when they were going back in time. The only thing I would have changed with that is I would have put them all in the correct order from newest to oldest to really signify them going back in time. While the movie is mostly kid friendly, I thought it was odd that they essentially drugged the gang and kidnapped them to make them believe they were going back in time.

It was nice to see Daphne take on all the male knights and take them all down. She was strong and fearless and it's nice to see her like that. It was funny when King Arthur called Daphne a non-man. In that time, women couldn't do anything that men could do, so for them to see a woman fighting would have been unheard of.

Velma used her brains to figure everything out, though there were times in the movie that I thought she was a bit naïve about what was going on. Fred got to come up with an anti-trap trap to get past Morgan La Fey's traps that she set. Shaggy and Scooby got to eat a lot of food in the movie along with King Arthur who also liked food.

Thundarr the Barbarian guest stars in the movie. He helps the gang get through the traps and rescue Shaggy. Thundarr The Barbarian was produced by Ruby-Spears Productions from 1980 to 1983.

I was happy to see they incorporated the Mystery Machine into medieval times as a horse-drawn cart. If you remember in the movie, Fred said Mr. HB sent the Mystery Machine to England for them, a nod to Hanna-Barbera I'm guessing.

I noticed a mistake in the movie. After the gang gets through the traps and King Arthur holds the drawbridge open for them to escape the castle, King Arthur is swallowed by the dragon. The dragon then puts a ring of fire around the gang. From the front, you can see the gang is all present - Shaggy, Scooby, Fred, Daphne and Velma. When the scene is shown from behind, Shaggy is replaced with King Arthur. Ooops!

The best lines in the movie were when Scooby said he was from Denmark. Daphne says "Well, you are a Great Dane after all!" and Scooby says "Emphasis on The Great! hehehehe" I thought that was a really cute and funny moment in the movie. I also liked that Velma referred to the gang as The Scooby Gang twice. Merlin said "It looks like you got yourself into a Barney" and then explained that he was referring to Barney Rubble.

Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob was a decent movie that had some funny moments and really had the gang using their best skills to work together to defeat Morgan La Fey, along with Thundarr the Barbarian. The medieval theme and the dragon made the movie much better for me, though I guess there will come a time that that will be played out in the Scoobyverse. It's a good family movie, for the most part, and I enjoyed it.
