SCOOB! Timeline

The final SCOOB! trailer was released yesterday! Check it out!



SCOOB! is an origin story about how the gang met and formed Mystery, Inc. The movie also features other Hanna-Barbera characters like Blue Falcon, Dynomutt and Captain Caveman. It was originally supposed to be released September 21, 2018, but the movie was pushed back to May 15, 2020. Check out the official site for more info!

Here is my timeline of SCOOB! I apologize if I missed anything.

August, 2013

Variety reported that Warner Bros. was going to reboot Scooby-Doo as an animated feature film. They announced that Charles Roven and Richard Suckle would produce the movie and Matt Lieberman was brought on as the writer.

June, 2014

Supposedly, Warner Bros. announced the movie for the first time, however, Variety had already reported in it in August, 2013.

August, 2015

Warner Bros. slated the movie release date as September 21, 2018 with the following:

Dan Povenmire - Executive Producer
Allison Abbate - Producer

April, 2016

The film was announced with the title S.C.O.O.B. at the 2016 CinemaCon.

September, 2016

Dax Shepard was set to co-produce and co-write the movie.

May, 2017

It was announced that the Scooby movie would be delayed for 2 years, with the new release date of May 15, 2020.

October, 2018

Dax Shepard dropped out of the project and he was replaced by Kelly Fremon Craig as screenwriter.

March, 2019

We learned the names of the actors that would be voicing Scooby and the gang.

It was announced that Tom Holkenborg would score the movie.

February, 2020

An extended trailer was released for the Super Bowl, with a first look at Blue Falcon. I'm not sure if this was official since it is not on the WB YouTube channel.



March, 2020

A new poster was revealed.

New images of SCOOB! were released, followed by the final trailer (see the video at the top of this post.)

SCOOB! hits theaters on May 15, 2020!

Does anyone think they will postpone the movie due to the Coronavirus? The new James Bond movie has been postponed as they are worried about low attendance. Will the same happen to SCOOB!? I guess we'll wait and see!

March 24, 2020

Warner Bros. delayed the release date of SCOOB! due to the Coronavirus. No new release date has been specified.

April 18, 2020

The SCOOB! Scooby and Shaggy Funko Pop figures were released and available at Walmart.

Warner Bros. announced that it will release SCOOB! as a digital release on May 15, 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

April, 2020

I don't have a specific date, but the SCOOB! toys became available at Walmart. I will be doing a separate blog post to highlight the toys.

May, 2020

Barkbox announed their May box would have a SCOOB! theme and include a stuffed Scooby, Mystery Machine, and Scooby Snacks!

Hardee's and Carl Jr restaurants are offering SCOOB! toys in their kids meals. There is a Scooby collar, a water reveal paddle, a Mystery Machine and a wristband.

May 3, 2020

Doo from ScoobySnax.com posted that SCOOB! will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on July 21, 2020. That is confirmed by the date on Walmart's website.

May 5, 2020

According to Billboard.com, Atlantic Records announced SCOOB! The Album, which will feature songs from artists like Charlie Puth, Lennon Stella, Thomas Rhett, Kane Brown and Ava Max. I don't know who any of those people are! The full soundtrack will be released on May 15, 2020.

My Adventure with Scooby at Rusty's TV & Movie Car Museum

It's been 6 months since I went to Rusty's TV & Movie Car Museum in Jackson, TN, and I am just writing about it now. We visited Rusty's on August 1, 2018. I've put this off and now it seems like it's been forever since I was there. I think it was one of the most amazing places I have ever been. Rusty has some awesome cars, including The Mystery Machine!

Over the summer, my family and I did a road trip. We started off at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and The Christmas Story House in Cleveland, OH,  checked out a cool mural on the side of the Kenner Toys building and a castle in Cincinnati, OH, went to Kentucky Down Under in Horse Cave, TN and The Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY and, before hitting a few other places, we went to Rusty's.

I had contacted Rusty a few weeks before our trip to make sure we were able to visit while we were in the area. We set up a day and time and I couldn't wait to get there! I had no idea this place was going to be as amazing as it was.

When we stepped inside the foyer area, we were greeted by Rusty himself. We were in the waiting room/foyer area of the museum, where you couldn't see anything. He had a bunch of toys, license plates, and pictures hanging on the walls and some chairs set up. We talked to him for a bit, and he said he would give us a tour of the museum.

After a few minutes in the waiting room, Rusty opened the door and began the tour. It was like being in a whole different world! We were surrounded by cars we've seen in movies and on TV, with the aisles looking like roads and props everywhere! It was like a dream come true.

Rusty took us around to each and every car and gave us info about every one of them. He explained what they were from, if they were originals or replicas, some fun stories regarding the vehicles, and he answered our questions without hesitation. He treated us like we were celebrities! He was so kind and you can tell he loves these cars and he is passionate about his collection.

At the end of the tour, Rusty let us look around at all the cars on our own. He was available for questions too. There was another family in the museum as well that he gave the tour to while we looked at everything. Once they left, he let us sit in The Mystery Machine!

Rusty was the best "tour guide" I've ever had! He even put my ScoobyAddicts sticker on the windshield of The Mystery Machine!!

If you are ever anywhere near Jackson, TN, you have to contact Rusty and check out his museum. He has a ton of cars, and I took pictures of every one of them! I took over 100 pictures while we were there. However, I'm not going to post all the pictures I took because I really think people need to go and see the cars for themselves. My focus is, of course, The Mystery Machine. Here are some more pictures of it:

The Mystery Machine at Rusty's is a replica, which is cool because it means he felt The Mystery Machine was important enough to put in his collection. You can check Rusty out on his website, rustystvandmoviecars.com, where you can get more information about the museum, learn more about Rusty, find the hours of the museum and contact him to make an appointment. I want to thank Rusty for his hospitality. He made us feel very welcome in his museum and he shared a lot of information with us about the cars. This was one of the best things we did on our road trip!

Day 365 - The Mystery Machine Ornament with Sound

Happy New Years Eve!!! This is the 2nd Mystery Machine ornament by Hallmark (see Day 351.) This ornament plays part of the Scooby-Doo these song.  The ornament measures 3" wide by 1 3/4" tall.

From the front, you can see the whole gang.

There is no license plate on the back.

The bottom of the box shows the copyright of 2016. The ornament was $17.95 in the US and $23.99 in Canada.

My Scooby Stuff - Day 356 - Mystery Machine Glass Ornament

Day 356 - Mystery Machine Glass Ornament

It is only a couple days until Christmas and I had to go shopping this morning to find some stuff, mostly food. I was looking in the craft aisle at Target for something and I stumbled on this ornament sitting on a shelf on an end cap. I looked at it, picked it up and carried it around with me until I checked out. How could I pass up a Scooby-Doo ornament?

The ornament is 3" wide by 2 1/2" tall. Scooby and Shaggy are in a much different drawing style than I have seen on merchandise.

On this side, you can only see Scooby, who, to me, looks like Yogi Bear when I look at it quickly.

From the other side, you can only see Shaggy.

From the front, you can see both Shaggy and Scooby. I think Shaggy is missing his nose. The goatee is a little misleading the way it is drawn on him.

There is no license plate on the back. They could have at least put the year on it.

This ornament is copyright 2018 and made in China.

Here is the ornament with the tag attached to it. The tag is very festive.
